Steps to Migrate 3.x to 7.x in SAP BW
Migrate transfer rules first before migrating data source. If you migrate data source first, then you will lose transfer rules. So first migrate the Transfer rules & then Data source.
1. Right Click on Transfer rules and Create Transformation.
2. Use 3.x infosource as copy to create new infosource.
3. Specify a unique name for the infosource and give OK.
4. Now a screen pops out showing as copying the Infosource & Transfer Rules.
5. Now go to Info source tab and find new Info Source. Activate the Infosource as well as Transfer rule.
Migrate the Data source
6. Click on WITH EXPORT. Doing this will help you to re-migrate from 7.0 to 3.x
After migrating to 7.0 version.
7. Now Go to Info Provider and search for 3.x old Data Source. Right click on Update rules and Create Transformation.
8. This time again it will ask you for info source. Default it shows second radio button which shows customized infosource name that we gave previously.
9. Open the transformation and activate it.
10. Create Info package for the data source .Info package will show “ONLY PSA” as processing mode.
11. Execute the Info package.
12. After loading, the data in the PSA is shown below.
13. Create DTP under DTP folder. Use the required datasource by mentioning the Source system.
14. Execute the DTP.
15. Once the DTP is ran successfully to the target, Infoprovider administration shows as below.
16. Given below is the 0PA_C01 infocube output.
17. In order to migrate the Personal actions Datasource – 0HR_PA_1, follow the same steps mentioned above and load the data to cube.
18. Headcount report Query Designer.
19. Variable screen pops out when the query is executed.
20. Result output of the Query.
